The Mandalorian: Episode 8: Redemption: Review

Mandalorian ends on a very high note.

The story line had plenty of fan service, and emotional moments. IG-11 was a well written droid, and one of the more memorable since C-3PO, so it makes me more sad that they killed him off. I'm glad they did not kill Moff Gideon, as it would have felt like a waste of a potientally good character.

The action scenes were great as well. The Mandalorian taking on Gideon's Tie Fighter using a jet pack was exciting. The musical score and cinematography were excellent as well.

The acting in this episode was great as usual. Taika Waititi's direction in this episode was great as well. It would not bother me if Disney hired him to do a Star Wars movie.

The ending with Moff Gideon cutting himself out of his destroyed Tie Fighter with the Darksaber was something I did not expect. I'm so glad that the Darksaber made its long awaited live action debut. I really hope that we get an explanation as to how he got ahold of it.

Overall, while it leaves some questions unanswered, the season one finale of the Mandalorian delivers on the musical score, cinematography, Taika Waititi's incredible direction, strong visual effects, strong performances from its cast, and a jaw dropping ending that will satisfy longtime fans of Star Wars and new fans alike.

Out of a 10 I would give it...

9.0 out of 10
