Crisis on Infinite Earths: Part 3: Review

Spoliers Ahead!!!!


The 5 week wait is going to be very long wait.

Henry Allen from the 90s Flash show, Black Lightning, Lucifer, and Ryan Choi showing was a huge surprise. Even though they did not have that much screen time, they made a huge impact in terms of the emotion.

Mia, John Constantine, and John Diggle going to purgatory in the spirit world to save Oliver's soul was odd. I really have no idea why Oliver did not go with them, and I really hope that they explain why, who the heck that was who showed up and convinced Oliver to stay dead.

The return of Vibe was great as well. The Monitor not putting up with Cisco's complaining was hilarious also.

The sacrifice that Flash made stunned me to no end. I did not expect Henry Allen from the 90s show to make the sacrifice. It made me sad when they showed a scene in the 90s show when he was talking Tina. I have watched a few episodes of that show, so I got a sense of nostalgia from that clip.

The ending where the Anti-Monitor showed up, because he was possessing Lyla, and destroyed Earth 1, and killed the Monitor, and most of the team blew me away. Batwoman, Supergirl, The Flash, Ryan Choi, Kingdom Come Superman, Sara Lance, and Martian Manhunter, survived because Nash Wells/Pariah saved them by fulfilling his destiny.

As to where they are right now, I have no idea. Lex Luthor then rewrote destiny, due to the book of destiny, and took Superman's place. I laughed when he said "Now What?" Because that was my same reaction as well.

Overall, While still not living up to the first episode of this crossover, part 3 of Crisis on Infinite Earths delivered on the emotion, jaw dropping ending, great cameos by many other characters from different shows, raising the stakes, a sense of nostalgia, and strong performances from LaMonica Garrett, Ruby Rose, John Wesley Shipp, Jon Cryer, and Tom Cavanagh to keep the crossover on a hot streak.

Crisis on Infinite Earths: Part 2: Review

The fan service is strong with this episode, even if it is not as good as the first episode.

Brandon Routh's return as Superman was excellent! Brandon is my favorite actor to play Superman (Sorry fans of Christopher Reeve). Tom Welling's return as Superman, while brief, was great. Jon Cryer did a great job as Lex Luthor also, hope to see him more during this Crisis.

The return of Heat Wave was great, as I loved his character on The Flash. Him also being a baby sitter was hillarious.

Kevin Conroy's reveal as Batman was the best part of this episode. The references to The Dark Knight Returns, Thomas Wayne's version of Batman, and Ben Affleck's version of Batman were incredible. The reveal that he killed Superman, Joker, the Riddler, Mr. Freeze, and more villains was a shocking twist.

Mia, Barry, Sara, and John Constantine's quest to bring Oliver back to life, using the Lazarus pit was emotional, and it had some great callbacks to seasons 3 and 4, even though 4 was a bad season. The cameo by Jonah Hex was a surprising twist also. As to what the team has to end up doing to bring Oliver's soul back to his body is going to be very interesting.

The Anti-Monitor arrived at the end, and his design is incredible. Him going after Lyla is very interesting.

Overall, while not as exciting as last week, part 2 of Crisis on Infinite Earths delivers on the fan service, bringing back some familiar faces from the 90s, plenty of emotion, great callbacks to previous seasons, revealing the Anti-Monitor, and strong performances from Kevin Conroy, Brandon Routh, and Jon Cryer.

Crisis on Infinite Earths: Part 1: Review

WARNING!!!! MAJOR SPOILERS AHEAD!!!!!!!!!

Earths will live, Earths will die. Heroes will live, Heroes will die, legends will be born!!!

The story line felt like something straight out of a comic book. The chemistry between the team was flawless. While I do not watch Supergirl, I pretty much got the jist of what has happened between all of the characters, even though I do not care about most of the characters at all. 

The action scenes were very well done also. I was also very impressed by how great the visual effects looked on the Shadow Demons. 

The death of Oliver Queen and the destruction of Supergirl's Earth left me in shock. Oliver Queen's death was unexpected becuase it happened very soon, and it nearly brought me to tears. I'm hoping that he is still alive, but I am not getting my hopes up.

The opening that featured all of the different Earth's was a great start to the series. Burt Ward's cameo was great, and I was laughing so hard at his one liner.

Overall, Crisis on Infinite Earth part 1 was the perfect start to this crossover due to its strong opening, chemistry and performances between all of its stars, well shot action scenes, great looking visual effects, and an ending that still has me in shock.

The Mandalorian: Chapter 5: The Gunslinger: Review

While not as exciting as Chapter 4, it still offers plenty of intrigue.

The story line suffered from its lack of action scenes, but Amy Sedaris' performance and the setting on the planet of Tatooine made up for it.

It was a shame that killed Ming-Na Wen so quickly, as she could have been a great addition to the cast.

The ending with the person going near Ming-Na Wen was the best part of the episode. As to who it is, I have two theories. 1. Boba Fett, because it is on Tatooine and because it looked like the person was wearing Mandalorian Armor. 2. It is Giancarlo Esposito's character, because we have not seen him yet.

Overall, while not as exciting as Chapter 4, Chapter 5 makes up for it with its great ending, performances from Amy Sedaris and Ming-Na Wen, and returning to Tatooine, the most important planet in the Star Wars saga, in my opinion.

The Mandalorian: Chapter 4: Sanctuary: Review

Bryce Dallas Howard's direction easily makes it the best episode of the season, so far.

The story line, while reminding me of The Magnificent 7, was more entertaining then the last 3 episodes, and it was actually very fun.

The action scenes were flawless. The way they took down the AT-ST was great. It was also great seeing the AT-ST again, and it looked a lot more creepy in this episodes, than in any of the movies.

It was too bad that he could not leave Baby Yoda with the villagers, but it helps advance the plot a lot more. Gina Carano's performance was great, hope to see her in future episodes.

Overall, Chapter 4 of the Mandalorian is easily the best of the season so far, while the plot felt unoriginal, the episode was easily memorable due to Bryce Dallas Howard's direction, flawless action scenes, advancing the plot very well, strong visual effects, and a strong performance from Gina Corano.

Arrow: Season 8 Episode 7: Purgatory: Review

This review will be brief, because my cold came back. UGGGGGGG so tired of being sick, espically since Star Wars is coming out in 13 days.

While it suffers from bad pacing, this episode of Arrow delivers on the emotion, jaw dropping Roy plot twist, great callbacks to season 1, setting up the Crisis, solid action scenes, and strong performances from Stephen Amell, Katie Cassidy, and Katherine McNamara to deliver a good final regualar episode of Arrow before the Crisis.

Out of a 10 I would give it...

7.5 out of 10

The Flash: Season 6 Episode 8: The Last Temptation of Barry Allen, Part 2: Review

This review will be brief, because my cold came back. UGGGGGGG so tired of being sick, espically since Star Wars is coming out in 13 days.

While not as good as Part 1, this episode of the Flash delivers on the emotion, sendoff for Bloodwork (who was a great villain, but hopefully they bring him back as a special guest star), creepy and suspenseful moments, strong visual effects, the ending that sets up Crisis, and a strong performance from Sendhill Ramamurthy to deliver a solid episode.
