DC has a new show, that boasts plenty of promise, and lots of charm from its lead actress.
The opening was awesome, it looked like something straight out of a comic book. I loved the part where Starman told S.T.R.I.P.E. that he was not be the next Starman. I was laughing so hard. The CGI and villains in this opening were amazing also.
The story line of Courtney and her family moving into a new town felt like the perfect old school vibe to this new series. I am looking forward to seeing how they develop her classmates, and what kind of roles they will play in the future.
The scene where the staff took her to the drive-in had me dying of laughter. I completely lost it when she destroyed the car. Once again, the pilot had great humor, and I am really loving the old school charm that this show has.
The ending where she was confronted by Brainwave, a member of the Injustice Society, was surprising, as I didn't expect her to confront any villains until later in the series. Christopher James Baker played a great part as Brainwave, and I am looking forward to seeing him again, and other villains that they have planned for this show.
The last scene where Stargirl was confronted by S.T.R.I.P.E. had me dying of laughter. I did not expect him to be the giant robot from Crisis on Infinite Earths! I am excited to see him train her in the upcomming episodes.
Overall, DC has a new show in town that looks to be a fun ride due to its tone, old school vibes, well done humor, and strong performances from its lead actress.
