The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power: Season 2 Episode 3: The Eagle and the Sceptre: Review

Another great episode that continues to build up the threat that is rising.

I was glad to see Arondir return, but I was shocked to find out that Bronwyn died. A dark fate that I never saw coming, but I'm glad they have added more stakes for these characters.

Isildur returning was long overdue. I knew he couldn't be dead, as his character is important to the story line for the Lord of the Rings Books. I am curious as to what the endgame is for the girl, Estrid, that he found in the woods. She had the mark of Adar on her neck, but she did try getting rid of it. I'm wondering if she is a spy, or a survivor? I loved that the Ents arrived at the end also.

Sauron helping make the Rings for the Dwarf lords is so satisfying. I am looking forward to seeing him craft the 9 rings for the race of men also. I am also loving how influential Sauron has become to Celebrimbor, and it continues to remind me of Anakin and Palpatine from Star Wars, in a great way.

Miriel's story line is intriguing. I have no idea where it is going, and to what end Isildur and his father are involved. I am hoping that the place Isildur is, is where Gondor will be built, they certainly seemed to tease that that will be the case.

The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power: Season 2 Episode 2: Where the Stars Are Strange: Review

The 2nd episode of the season sets the pieces in place for the creation of the Rings of Power.

The Wizard and the Hobbits being tracked by the evil ladies that hunted the Wizard in the first season is intriguing. I am wondering who the dark Wizard is, and what his connection to the main Wizard is. The henchman had the eye of Sauron on their flags, so they obviously have some sort of connection to him.

Sauron deceiving Celebrimbor into helping him make the Rings of Power was such a great story line. Charlie Vickers has crushed it as the dark lord Sauron. His performance reminds me so much of Emperor Palpatine in Star Wars. I am so looking forward to Galadriel and Elrond encountering him again!

The story line involving the Dwarves was interesting. I love Owain Arthur's performance as Durin IV, and hope to see him reunite with Elrond on screen again. The ending with them about to get their rings forged is so exciting! Love the continued buildup to the Rings being received by all of the races!

The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power: Season 2 Episode 1: Elven Kings Under the Sky: Review

The premier of the 2nd season The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power opens with a huge banger!

The story line involving Elrond trying to destroy the rings after finding out that Halbrand was Sauron was a great story line. It helped understand why Elrond has a vendetta against Sauron, and why he knew the rings were nothing but bad news.

Sauron's story line was amazing! Loved the opening flashback sequence we got, and I am looking forward to watching more of Sauron's development. Sam Haeldine isn't bad as Adar, but I really do miss Joseph Mawle's performance as Adar, as he had more of a presence about him.

The story line involving the Wizard and the Harfoots is shaping up to be an interesting story line. I wonder if this wizard might end up meeting Saruman in the future! We shall see.
